Goodbye Acne with @LaRochePosayUSA #ad

Last week I attended an #AcneDermclass to learn more about different skin conditions, blemishes and acne treatment hosted by La Roche-Posay. I had the chance to hear from and speak with Dr. Hilary Baldwin, board-certified dermatologist and Dr. Evan Reider, board certified dermatologist and psychologist about acne and its impaction one’s overall health. My skin is relatively blemish free right now, but from time to time I have problem areas that can impact my work, and I’m always looking for new and innovative treatments.

I recently partnered with La Roche-Posay after trying products from their EFFACLAR line, which is specifically for acne and oily skin. Using for a few weeks now, I’ve been extremely satisfied with the results! They recently launched the Effaclar Adapalene Gel 0.1%, which is a once-daily retinoid that regulates skin cell turn over to unclog pores and prevent blackheads and whiteheads. They also launched PORESCAN, which is an artificial intelligence skin analysis tool, with just a few pictures it can tell you about any skin imperfections and recommend products to help.

The brand’s name comes from its hometown, La Roche-Posay, France. The town is well-known for its thermal spring water with high selenium content, which is a rare and powerful antioxidant. Since 1905, this water has been used exclusively at the La Roche-Posay Thermal Center, Europe’s leading Center of Thermal Dermatology, with over 7,500 patients visiting each year to treat variety of severe skin conditions by using only the water.

Acne is the most common skin condition in the U.S., and if you think that it’s limited to teenagers, I have some news for you :) – adults over age 30 are experiencing breakouts more than ever, and adult acne can be persistent and recurrent. Here are some stats and facts that I found to be very enlightening from the class:

  • Adult acne can be caused by genetics, hormone fluctuations, stress, medications, and pore-clogging cosmetics, to name a few.

  • 80% of the people with acne don’t ever visit a dermatologist, so over-the-counter prescription strength treatments like EFFACLAR Adapalene Gel 0.1% and Effaclar Duo (a benzoyl peroxide acne treatment) are game-changers for people who have limited access to a healthcare provider.

  • Effaclar product lines provide a comprehensive solution for all types of acne, and have a variety of products, ranging from cleansers, moisturizers, and acne treatments available with and without active ingredients.

  • The thermal spring water present in La Roche-Posay’s products is clinically proven to maintain the skin’s pH balance, is rich in anti-oxidants, soothing, and suitable for even the most sensitive skin.
