Face spa at home with my fav massagers

I first learned about face rollers while modeling from a Japanese makeup artist in New York. Our shoot was early in the morning and I still had a bit of puffiness on my face, and while she was unpacking her makeup kit, she gave me a Japanese roller called “ReFa” and told me to try it out. I absolutely loved the effect, my face looked thinner and more sculpted, and I could see the results within 5-10 minutes, which is a godsend in my industry. When I got back home, I immediately ordered one of my own, and while somewhat pricey, it’s been six years now and I still use it daily and it still looks great! I’m going to introduce four rollers, two of which luxury products and two of which are more affordable. Without further ado, here are are my favorite four rollers, in no particular order!

1. ReFa CARAT Face & Body Roller

ReFa is the main producer of face rollers, and they have many other types of massagers for face and body as well! Based in Tokyo, the company’s main product is called “Carat Face” and it’s a platinum, waterproof, dual-roller system with solar powered micro current technology that helps to tighten and firm the face, neck and chest, and I always make sure to use it with oil. It was my first purchase as I mentioned above, and it’s the product that got me started with rollers. I absolutely adore this roller and you should certainly check it out!

2. Gua Sha Stones

I was watching Romee Strijd’s Youtube channel one day, and she mentioned an interesting facial massage product called “Gua Sha” that’s a set of Chinese tissue draining massage crystals that you use to lift and tone your skin. “Gua” means to scrape in Chinese and “Sha” means sand, but there’s no sand in sight, so I don’t completely understand what they’re referring to! They are smooth, moon-shaped crystal stones that massage your face, and I recommend that you use them cold and with oil, so leave them in the fridge prior to using them. They increase circulation, lymphatic flow and release tension. They are also good option if you’re on a budget (they’re $15 dollars), so check them out below!

3. NuFACE Trinity Facial Toning Device

NuFace is a micro current, skin toning device that helps to improve facial contours, tone, and reduces wrinkles if you use it for five minutes per day consistently. I first discovered it at an aesthetician’s salon on the Upper East Side, and it’s been a go-to tool in my kit of rollers for some time. It’s a bit more expensive than Gua Sha crystals, for example, but if you used it over time, you’ll see salon quality results in the reduction of fine lines, its skin lifting effect, and it’s really like exercise for your face. It also contributes to improving the definition of your neck, jawline, and cheekbones. I use it with a rose water spray instead of NuFace gel primer and I’ve been very impressed with the results!

4. Energy Beauty Bar 24k Golden

Another great option if you’re on a budget is the Energy Beauty Bar 24k Golden. It starts at $9 on Amazon and is a powerhouse facial massager. It produces 6-7k vibrations per minute, provides gentle massage to eliminate puffiness, reduces smile and forehead lines, and helps with crow’s feet, among other things. I learned about it on Instagram and saw celebrities using it, so I decided to test it out (Instagram marketing works, folks :)! It’s extraordinary relaxing to use it and it visually firms your skin in five minutes. Definitely recommend this one!

5. Jade Beauty Roller

I love using this Jade Beauty Roller in the morning, especially when I keep it in the fridge overnight! The sensation is similar to washing your face with a cube of ice, and it’s really quite refreshing! There is also a budget option available for this roller, which you can find for $17.99 at Jade Beauty Bar! The roller is an ancient Chinese beauty product that’s been honed and improved since the 7th century – it helps to stimulate blood circulation, improve the elasticity of the skin, and to relax facial muscles and the lymphatic system.
